The "Best Little Market Place In Town" is Reopening!

Under new and specific State and County mandates we are thrilled to tell you that we will be reopening the Ventura College Weekend Marketplace on May 30th and 31st!

There will be a new protocol for both our vendors and patrons. We ask that all visitors wear face coverings and practice proper social distancing. Please review the COVID-19 Marketplace Reopening Information Packet for details on our operational plan, supplemental vendor agreement, and safety protocol.

While we wish we could welcome all of our vendors back next weekend, only vendors selling essential goods, or any other items authorized by the Ventura County Public Health Department will be allowed to return. Types of items include those currently sold at grocery and home-improvement stores.

The proceeds from vendor fees at the Marketplace help fund the VC Foundation for the benefit of the College and its students.

Ventura College Foundation

The Ventura College Foundation’s Weekend Marketplace, located at Telegraph and Day roads,  began as a small effort in 1985 by the VC Foundation’s board of directors to raise additional support for the Foundation and funds for Ventura College students and programs.  The Weekend Marketplace has grown into an established community event attracting vendors and patrons from throughout the state and will typically draw approximately 2,000 to 5,000 shoppers each weekend.

In the past decade, the VC Foundation Weekend Marketplace has doubled the revenue it generates from space rentals to support the Foundation, helping to cover the costs of staff, operations and a portion of the Foundation's core programs: scholarships, the VC Promise and textbook lending support.

Non-Profit Organizations get FREE Space Rental

The VC Foundation Weekend Marketplace contains over 300 vendor stalls and usually sells out on Sundays.  The Weekend Marketplace is pleased to offer all county non-profit organizations one or more FREE vendor spaces to set up an informational booth and/or to use the space to sell goods for fundraising purposes, e.g. a rummage sale or garage sale.  This offer is available for any Saturday during the year. You can reserve multiple Saturdays, at no cost. This is a great opportunity for non-profits to make some money, and/or raise its programs’ visibility with the significant foot traffic at the Marketplace.
