Ventura College Veterans Support
Veterans Day Tribute

Honoring all that Served

Join the VC Foundation this Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11th, as we honor, support, and thank Ventura College Veteran students for their sacrifices made for our freedom. We will be launching a special tribute video with short messages from dignitaries, education leaders, donors and veterans that will be featured on our social media pages, website, and more!

We offer a range of support services tailored specifically to help Ventura College's military veterans, active duty service members, and dependents flourish in their educational pursuits. Below are ways you can support Ventura College's Veteran Students.

Veteran Support Programs

Scholarship Support

The Ventura College Foundation was initially established to raise funds for student scholarships. There are a variety of ways to support Veteran Scholarships.

  • Donors can establish their Veteran scholarship through a minimum gift of $1,200 to award an annual scholarship or through a gift of $22,500.00 to establish a scholarship endowment.
  • Donors can give to our VCF Phoenix Scholarship fund that supports all re-entry students, including Veterans.

When making your donation, select "other" and specify Veterans Scholarship in the designation box.

Veterans Textbook Program

The Jerry Arellano Veteran Resource Center Library is funded by donors in Ventura County who are passionate about helping veterans excel academically. This program provides textbook stipends to U.S. veteran students at Ventura College who are reserving their G.I. Bill® education benefits for four-year University education. Donations help to:

  • Improve the college-going rate among veterans in Ventura County
  • Encourage full-time enrollment, which maximizes a student's opportunity for success
  • Encourage veteran students to reserve their GI Bill® for four-year university education

Veteran Resource Center (VRC)

The Veterans Resource Center offers Veteran students support services that are focused on their academic needs, including:

  • Academic counseling, including transcript evaluation and developing education plans
  • Application assistance for admission and course registration
  • GI Bill® Enrollment Certifications - fee reimbursement, housing allowance (if applicable), and pre-enrollment guidance.
  • Priority Registration
  • Lounge for relaxation between classes
  • A study area for tutoring, studying, or reading
  • Computers, printers, and scanners
  • A place to connect with peers
