The Jordana Ybarra-Telias Emergency Grant is in memory of Jordana Ybarra-Telias, who passed away in May 2022. Jordana was the President of the Ventura College Classified Senate and the Coordinator of the Ventura College Veteran Resource Center.

This gift along with other donor funds will support the establishment of a $20,000 fund for emergency grants that will be distributed through the Ventura College Basic Needs Center. The establishment of the Jordana Ybarra-Telias Emergency Grant will enable the Ventura College Basic Needs Center to provide vital and urgent mini-grants to veteran students and students who are dependents of veterans. These mini-grants will be used for emergency needs (e.g., new tires, prescriptions, utility bills, etc.) until the fund is exhausted. The Ventura College Basic Needs Office will prioritize serving veterans and dependents of veterans with any requests they have and, after a certain period, provide mini-grants to other students in need.
