VC Agriculture Avocado Orchard Grand Opening

Please join us for the official grand opening of Ventura College’s Agriculture Avocado Orchard!

Mission Produce, the leading global supplier of high-quality retail and foodservice avocados, in partnership with up with Halter-Encinas Enterprises, Inc., Coast Water Solutions, Brokaw Nursery, LLC, and Quality Ag, Inc., installed a new one-acre commercial avocado orchard at Ventura College. The grand opening will be Tuesday, December 10, 2020, at 3:00 p.m.

Students in the school’s new two-year agriculture business program will now have a hands-on experience learning how a commercial orchard is maintained, avocados harvested, prepared for market and then sold. The Ventura College Ag program will receive a portion of the avocado sales proceeds.
