State Farm Local Agents Dena Rodgers and Irene Henry’s impact at Ventura College

Their impact has been remarkable. Through their dedication, creativity, and commitment to students, they successfully raised nearly $3,000, in cash and supplies, to support students who are hungry, housing insecure, or living on low incomes. In addition to the financial support, they collected an impressive 40 pounds of essential supplies, ensuring students have access to the resources they need to thrive.

The Basic Needs Centers provide groceries, snacks, hot meals, mental health services, housing referrals, and so much more. The food pantries experience over 500 student visits every day, and twenty percent of the entire student population accesses these services each year. These numbers highlight the importance of community support and why partners like Dena and Irene make such a meaningful difference. By leveraging social media outreach and cultivating genuine community involvement, they were able to rally donors, raise awareness, and inspire others to take action.

Their efforts provided direct aid and helped shine a light on the ongoing challenges many students face. Thank you, Dena and Irene, for your incredible leadership, compassion, and partnership!
